I’ve never seen the wind

I’ve heard the wind as it rustles the leaves and needles, and swirls through the boughs

I’ve felt the wind as it blows my hair and as it drives the snow against one side of my unsheltered face

I’ve seen the clouds move and open and close and swirl, as I envision pictures in the sky

I’ve watched the wheat in a field, lean and swerve about, as if God’s hand was playing a symphony in gold and shadow

But, I’ve never seen the wind.

I’ve never seen love

I’ve seen a child snuggled safe and close to it’s mother’s bosom

I’ve heard two lovers resonate with the energy that they create together

I’ve seen a happy dog look at it’s master and wag it’s tail when touched

I’ve felt love, I’ve given love, I’ve received love, I’ve lost love, I’ve wasted love, I’ve rejected love, I’ve longed for love

But, I’ve never seen love.

I’ve never seen God

I’ve felt God in my heart of hearts

I’ve talked to God, and I’ve heard God speak to me in unspoken words

I’ve given God my problems, and I have received God’s grace

I’ve never seen the wind and I’ve never seen love and I’ve never seen God

But I know that they all exist … and my heart tells me that they are all one.
